Important Notice from the Netherlands Consulate General, Chicago, Illinois

To apply for Dutch passports it is very important that you submit photographs that meet the latest Dutch passport picture requirements. On our website (www.cgchicago.org) you will find a PASPOORT requirements button on the left side of our homepage. When you click this button you will be able to choose Request Dutch passport – First time application (US) or Request Dutch passport – Renewal (US).

When you choose “First time application” you will find the link to the passport picture requirements under Picture Requirements, requirements, while your choice for “Renewal” will guide you to the link under Picture Requirements: Picture size: Follow this link.

Both choices will connect you to a matrix in PDF.

On the matrix the sizes are mentioned in mm (milimeters) and you will find examples of how the pictures should look.

When you visit a photographer, please make sure that you receive pictures that completely meet the desired requirements. If this is not the case your passport application can not be accepted until you have new, correct pictures, because, an electronic connection will be made between your picture, your fingerprints and your signature when you are at this office.

On our website you will find a list of photographers who are familiar with the strict requirements.

Disclaimer:

Passport photos taken by photographers who are informed of our requirements according to the Photo Matrix Model, are not automatically accepted at the Embassy or at the Consulates General of the Netherlands in the U.S.A. or at the passport issuing office in the Netherlands. A final check will be carried out before the document is being produced.
