FIRST SHIPMENT OF LITTLE CHUTE WINDMILL PIECES MAKES WAY ACROSS ATLANTIC ARRIVAL IN LITTLE CHUTE SCHEDULED FOR MAY 14
LITTLE CHUTE, WI (May 10, 2010) – The first shipping container of Little Chute Windmill pieces has made its way across the Atlantic Ocean from the Netherlands on the cargo ship Mol Endurance. The shipment represents the first of five 40-foot open top containers that will bring over the disassembled authentic Dutch windmill to be built in downtown Little Chute. The 965-foot long Mol Endurance departed from Rotterdam in the Netherlands on April 30th and was expected to arrive in New York on May 9th. From there the windmill container will make its way to Little Chute, with an estimated delivery date of May 14th. The content of the container weighs 35,277 pounds and is comprised of the stage structure that goes around the outside of the windmill, doors, windows, frames and some smaller parts of the windmill. Most pieces are made from superior-quality wood from all over the globe. Upon arrival in Little Chute, the windmill pieces will be stored until they are ready to be assembled at the Main Street site in downtown.
